S-Foils Patch
Patch Information
Modifies the executable of the game fixing a well known bug which prevents S-Foils starfighters other than X-W and B-W (Assault Gunboat, Missile Boat, Skipray Blastboat and Shuttle) from shooting in single player mode. This is an improved version of Derrick "Trident" Huntington's original patch, that allows to change executables even if they've been patched or changed before.
- Requires XWA 2.02 Patch
- Not recommended for No-CD versions of XWA. Use XWA Craft Pack No-CD Version instead.
Patch Reviews
I've found a workaround of sorts to use s-foils patch in 2023, with steam version. It's not pretty or clean, or maybe legal, but here's how I did it:
-install xwa 2.02 patch
the game will now complain you need a CD to play.
-Install a no-cd patch and make sure the game is now running properly
-install s-foil patch.
I was finally able to run Battle TC28.
Patch Bug Reports

It doesn't work with the current Steam XWA version. I get the:
'This is not the 2.02 version of XWA!'
2022-10-23
Getting same bug as below in 2022. Not sure how I can play any XWA missions that require S-Folds to be opened as the alternative listed does not exist on the page. GoG version of XWA with 2.02 installed.
