Some long missions, especially the last one. I had to play it twice because for some reason my wingmen decided to blow up a ship that was disabled and waiting to be captured. Frustrating but whatever, all together the missions are pretty decent with a large majority requiring just dogfighting.
Had some nice ingredients in it, but lacked of any real umph. Play it for completion points, otherwise, there is not that much to tell.
This battle is a bit disappointing. It starts with a great plotline and some detailed descriptions and adequate briefings, and until mission 2 or 3, it's a classic dogfight-your-way through a substantial amount of enemy fighters, immersive and entertaining. Then, the missions start to be almost identical and repetitively boring, since you will have to sink a number of platforms and capital ships with out being able to aim, because they have the auto-fire on missiles and your bombing complement will get decimated over and over again, leaving you to fight swarms of fighters and lasering down cruisers and platforms. Really tedious. In addition, in mission 5, after you've annihilated the entire complement of enemy fighters, a certain platform has to be captured, but the imbecile helming the enemy cruiser will ruin your day, ramming his own platform. This, literally can give you fits of pure rage, as you will have to try it again. Word of advice, disable the CRS before the drunken helmsman rolls over their own people. The only thing that tones down the frustration is that player is flying the Space Cadillac, aka TIE Defender, where everything is possible while flying the mightiest fighter in the galaxy. Besides that, skip this one, there are better battles out there.
A very boring mission. It's not that there's a lack of combat. It's just that the combat is repetitive. All missions are you against a large number of fighters and one or two capital ships or a ship and a station. On some missions, all fighters have missiles, so you get the picture. What’s most irritating is that the SSD Avenger is present, but it’s always too far away to even fire at the enemy ships or have any influence on the battle. It seems that this is a BoP battle just to show-off a SSD which is hardly noticeable. Pathetic.

M5: ATR doesn't fly home when mission complete buts sits there looking for craft to capture
2009-08-10
Mission 1: Objective to inspect intruding starships does not show as failed if it is incomplete when the M/FRG is destroyed. ISD Rage does not fire upon enemy craft in range.
Mission 2: ISD Defender is strangely labelled as a tertiary target for the player side. ISD Rage has SSD Avenger as a target on a 'wait' order.
Mission 5: ATR Storm attacks the Crystal Tech HQ platform while moving to capture it.
