I played on Easy. These missions all felt very similar to me. They all revolve around flying the same craft, doing roughly the same missions. On the plus side, they're pretty quick. Unfortunately, Mission 3 seems a bit buggy if you play as the T/A instead of the Gunboat, as per my bug report.
I actually liked this battle a lot more than most of Frodo's creations. Can it be frustrating? Yes, it can. But it's a nice battle for co-op and if playing it solo you choose to either battle it out as a Gunboat or destroy everyone in a T/A. I like the way it was setup and the way it plays. Far more enjoyable than some of the other battles I recently flew. I would like to see Frodo embrace immersion a bit more though.
This battle was good for me. Sure, I understand the critics against it, since it's at times folly and silly, but I liked the sense of humour that pervades through it. The missions themselves were not the best of Frodo's, in terms of layout and tactical planning, but were certainly enjoyable, and the creator allows the player to choose the level of challenge to face, since the same mission can be very hard if taken from a GUN or a T/A. Always remember that your wingmen's AI is close to that of a dormant space slug. Yet, this battle is worth a try, at least for the fun of seeing the dialogue and shenanigans Frodo is used to throw at us.
Annoying battle to say the least. a T/A that captures a INT (how many troops can a T/A hold anyway?), not to mention waiting 6 minutes for an INT to do a capture op... However, that's all doable. What i really hated was how in mission 3 the GUNs are tioo stupid to disable CNVYRs with shields down, so you are forced to fly the GUN yourself, and in several missions, the friendly GUNs all hyper out when the CAPs are gone, leaving you to fight off a dozen enemy fighters all alone in your GUN. Can we please execute those GUN pilots on sight?
Easy and repetitive battle with far too much waiting (especially when the interdictor has to capture the platform, and hypers in at the wrong place, so it has to turn around!) Also, it seems like a battle correction has made the maximum score on missions 2, 3, and 4 about half what the high scores are, which is a drag :P
I didnt like this battle very much. First of all, I find it VERY ANOYING that you cannot send many of the craft involved in the fighting away. This would enable the pilot to actually get a little more challenge from the missions, which are, I'm sorry to say, too easy. Also, the waiting time in mission 4 for the interdictor to dock with the station is simply too long.
Not a bad battle at all, enough to keep the average pilot on his toes;p.
Mission 3 - If you fly as a T/A, the Gunboats have the Conveyors targeted but never fire their Ions at them.
Throughout: AI craft frequently crash into starships and stations for no apparent reason. They also do not fire lasers at their targets.
