Battle Reviews

One of the buggiest messes in the entire compendium, avoid at all costs.

An enjoyable mission, where with craft selection, you could choose your role, which was a good element.

It's low effort, but it's (potentially) easy (on easy). You really only have to destroy the platform, so choose your craft wisely. Don't forget you can switch to your wingmates and use their ordinance, or order them to attack it as well to make quick work of the whole affair. I can't really recommend it except for easy points, but it's not the worst either.

I played on Easy. This mission is an absolute cakewalk, I feel bad for the Rebels in this mission. They're so completely outmatched and outgunned, it's not even funny. If you can breathe or blink your eyes, you can beat this mission.

pretty easy and straightforward mission. i kind of assumed the platform was the hostile so i went for that with the heavy rockets and finished it off with lasers. played this one as part of rtf 21

Platform bombing run that is just way too easy and quick to complete because you have a dozen wingmen. Downloading the ZIP file and putting the files in the right place took longer than the mission. Hell, even for you reading this review......it is longer than how long this mission takes. I'll take the RTF points though.

Quick. Easy. This is yet another free battle that can be completed in under 60 seconds with use of rockets and wingmen. Just ensure your wingmen empty their magazine into the platform and job done.

It could have been so much better. Starts with the right foot by having you choose to fly between a T/I and a T/B. But once inside, it kind of falls on its head. Small changes could have made this a much better flying experience.

One of the fastest missions ever! Completing the primary goals was real quick, going after the bonuses was certainly more challenging in an unshielded T/B but certainly entertaining. Worth a try.

Battle Bug Reports

CPT Vanguard88

The player can issue orders to the Tie Bombers, Interceptors, Advanced, the Interdictor Zeus and Z-95 group Tuna. I have never seen that particular bug before but it appears to be due to the fact that the Z-95's have their radio set to that of player 1.

Tie Bomber group Diamondback has incorrect primary orders if piloted by AI. It has been ordered to disable the Platform, but since it does not have ions it will simply use enough warheads to lower the shields on the platform, then does nothing.

Tie Advanced group Viper has an arrival condition of 100% of TC-ASF craft being all AI, which can never be satisfied if there is a player craft.

Platform Brook has secondary orders to patrol and attack when it cannot patrol.

Y-Wing group Seahorse will attack its' own flight group due to being given orders to attack its' own global unit. They are also missing orders to attack the Tie bombers/interceptors from diamondback squadron.

Corellian transport group turtle and ATR group turtle have no turrets, meaning that if the platform is not destroyed by the time 66% of enemy fighters are destroyed they will be destroyed when trying to board and retrieve the cargo containers.

Bonus for inspecting Container type E group pepe 1,3 & 5 are all set to 0 points. Pepe 1 should be a group of 1x4 to match Pepe 5 being 1x4 instead of Pepe 1 being 1x2 and Pepe 3 being 1x2.

Corellian transport group turtle will sometimes crash into each other when attempting to enter the Zeus' hangar and destroy themselves.

ATR group turtle will sometimes crash into themselves when attempting to enter the Zeus' hangar and destroy themselves.

Interdictor Zeus has a player roster role of attack ISD when there is no ISD present in the mission. it also has orders to patrol and attack the platform but its' waypoints do not take it anywhere near the platform.

Interdictor Zeus must survive is a condition of the mission but there are no craft assigned to attack it.

Installation
------------
The Imperial.lst and Mission.lst replace your original files, so back those up!

1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle.
2] Check the Misc folder in your XvT one for additional material like patches, sounds etc.
3] Press the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter button to start XvT and fly the battle.
- Create a new pilot for the mission based on your name or PIN and the mission number.
For example, SL Stele playing Free Mission 80 would make a new pilot file named "StelFM80."
or a Pilot with PIN 2883 playing Free Mission 69 would make a new pilot file named "2883fm69"
- Begin flying the first training mission.

Description
-----------
This mission is part of a series of free missions about each of the squadrons in the ASF doing
missions following their squadron objective in their assigned craft. Each mission tries to give
a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are
interconnected and have the ASF Squadron join together against a common foe.

Story Line
----------
While the rest of the wing has been concentrating on Rebel convoys, we're going for the source
of these: Genko Platform Brook. The Genkoans have had far too many favours on this matter already,
even got their PLT back after Wing XIII had captured it. Now they are still betraying our trust,
the EH will end this matter in the easiest way: take out the platform and capture all goods.

NOTE
-------------------
You need the XvT (or at least all the ships involved there), as far as i know
no other patches are needed.
