The Sith Order and the TIE Corps have been connected throughout the history of the Emperor's Hammer. Indeed, the Corps is one of the best recruiting areas for the Order. While TIE Fighter Corps pilots are excellent warriors, they are limited by their field of vision. A Sith pilot, on the other hand, sees not only through his eyes, but also through the Force. The fundamental difference between a TIE Corps Pilot, and a Sith is therefore easily summed up in three words: The Dark Side. It is the Dark Side that a Sith will wield to gain the upper hand in flight. It is the use of the Force that allows a Sith pilot to sense when to fire the killing blow, when to avoid the incoming shot, or when to turn to loose his weapons on his enemies aft. It is this link to the Dark Side that makes us able to crush our foes, despite the advantage they are gaining in numbers and technology. A fully trained Sith Warrior should be more feared than a Super Star Destroyer, as he can be decisively more deadly.

An example of just how respected Sith pilots are in the Emperor's Hammer is the special recognition that we have been given within the TIE Corps itself. Once, the Flagship of the Emperor's Hammer, before the SSSD Sovereign was constructed, was the Super Star Destroyer Avenger. This Super Star Destroyer has since been dedicated to being home to the most elite of TIE Corps pilots, pilots who are members of the Dark Brotherhood of Jedi. This special Task Force, which includes the Super Star Destroyer Avenger, the Imperial Star Destroyer Subjugator, and the Marauder-Class Tripidium, is home to the Dark Brotherhood fleets in the TIE Corps.
