Tempest Blown with the Wind #6 March 28, MMIX Loading IO.SYS... < Salute, pilots from Wing X, Wing Commander Domi , Commodore TBA (¿?) and last but not least TIE Corps Commander Jarek La'an >
Welcome to this, my fifth Weekly Report for my beloved Squadron, the mighty Tempest! The Mighty Tempest, "The Riders on the Storm". Broadcasting... <LCM Ophra> Okay, Wing X pilots, rise and shine!! And don't forget your pilot flightsuits because it's COLD³ out there today. <LT O. Wells> It's cold out there every day. What is this, The Hammer's Fist? <LCM Ophra> Not hardly. You can expect hazardous hyperjump traffic later with that promo party thing. <LT O. Wells> "That promo party thing"? Ah, here's the report. <LCM Ophra> The Flight Office is calling for a big party on Wing Commander Jondaar Domi's promotion to General! <LT O. Wells> They are indeed! And may our good old Wing X WC get our most sincere congrats on it. But there's another reason why today is especially exciting. <LCM Ophra> Especially cold. <LT O. Wells> The big question on everybody's lips- <LCM Ophra> On their drunk lips. <LT O. Wells> On their drunk lips, yes: Do you think Tempest Squadron will raise up with victory against no less than Praetorian Elite Squadron? <LCM Ophra> OUR Riders on the Storm! That's right, woodchuck chuckers. <LT O. Wells> W-What?... :_P <LCM Ophra> Nevermind, Orson. What it matters here is that we're on last week of... Praetorian vs. Tempest !! VS.
And there's not much else to say for it seems somebody killed the drum boy... ^_^
The Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet came 1st in "10 years of XWA - Time to Celebrate!" BSC event!! It's as you read, my minions; those who managed to crown this first decade of XWA online gaming were no less than the EH members, and the TIE Corps pilots especifically (the day you see someone from The Fringe or The Hammer's Fist participating on these MP flying competitions please tell me about and I'll find you a good ophthalmologist :-P). And well, I could also state here that from the whole Fleet only 1... And I mean: 1... pilot participated there, but that goes beyond the purposes of this report, one of them being to keep you all well updated on Tempest pilots' accomplishments and merits... oh wait! :-J Jondaar Domi, our esteemed Wing X Wing Commander (that guy who uses to wander the command bridge... yeees, you know, who makes the briefings whenever the whole 'Chal' needs to fight as an unit... doesn't ring a bell yet? Oh, come on... whose position is just below that of the Commodore... What's a Commodore?!! Hmmmpfff... Ok, Domi is the guy whose orders prevent me to blow up the ship, OK?!!!! Great. >:P) has been recently promoted to the coveted rank of General (GN) following a brilliant career as one of the best officers the TIE Corps has ever seen! No less reward could have been expected for such an officer whose day-to-day administration makes possible for us to have our daily amount of alcohol while still being The TIE Corps Flagship worthy pilots. Without him we would be just filthy flying drunks. With him there we are... ... (*ejem*) Well, the fact is that he has again the rank he had the very day he joined the Fleet (back in the Paleozoic, around 1998 go figure, all TC pilots started their careers as Generals, which is the rank you usually get when you finish TIE Fighter LA game) but this time it came deserved. Not only deserved but overdue! The thing is that regardless of what you might think I wasn't paid by our beloved Wing Commander for the licking-arse speech; a couple of barrels-o'-quality and the promise of leaving all patrol duties for the mighty Tornado did the miracle. ;-D All merit medals for Tempest Squadron coming from February MWE ("Monthly Wing Evaluation" for those of you who were blind when you passed [SM/3]) have been finally awarded! Our most sincere congrats to those who got what they deserved, as stated below: Colonel Daniel Bonini, Tempest 1-2, you have been awarded an Imperial Security Medal. And since they didn't let me to attach that thermal detonator to it I must say it won't be that funny anymore. Colonel Nav'ric Trow, Tempest 1-4, you have been awarded an Imperial Security Medal. But rest assured that with your insane amount of missions flown for this month you'll get a kick-in-you-know-where next time. ;-P Lt. Commander Dunta Polo, Tempest 2-1, you have been... (*sigh*) awarded The Bronze Star of The Empire, which is crazy for a simple Flight Leader despite it's obvious you deserved it due to your outstanding performance. Right now I'm investigating who was the main responsible for this madness. Later I'll go after you. >:P Commander John T. Clark, Tempest 2-3, you have been awarded an Imperial Security Medal and I must say it would have been deserved just for your top-funny e-mails even if you wouldn't have flown a single thing. And even then you flew. Keep it up! :-D Commander Vitaru, Tempest 3-1, you have been awarded The Palpatine Crescent. And hell! You deserved it for your splendid work as one of my Flight Leaders. However, if you make me to wait for one of your reports again the next thing you'll get will come at 600 MGLT and exploding on contact I tell you. >:) Lt. Commander Sergeyli, Tempest 3-2, you have been awarded The Palpatine Crescent. And if not because it's you I would say it was deserved. But being you there... ok, it was definitely deserved but I'll negate having said this. Thanks Palpatine nobody was there to hear me. ;-) And about myself... well, I got... I got THIS:
The Science Office strikes again!! Not surprising, because all of us perfectly know they won't leave us alone 'till they have released new system patches for ALL game platforms... Anyways, after dozens of night-cycles at the VSD Sinister trying to summon The Devil, Morgoth, Keyser Söze, Christina Aguilera and other infernal beings to help them on their neverending development of flying blasphemies it seems they have finally released EHSP 1.2 patches for... (*drumroll*)... (et tu quoque? :____{ You're supposed to be death, aren't you?) For TIE Fighter 95 (Collector's Series) aaaaand TIE-CD (Collector's CD). And no, they're not the same despite the idiocy displayed by those who released the first one 3 years after the second might drive you to think so. :-P Find all new patches at the Patch Archive HERE as usual. And remember that you'll also need to download again the battles/missions themselves, at least those that use patches because the mission files needed to be modified a little to make room for all necessary changes. And the greatest trick the SCO crew ever plotted was convincing the Fleet they actually work FOR US! And now just a few lines to talk about he who made his preferred hobby to make us all looking like crap (maybe with the exception of good old COL Trow who also had his own glimpse of flying madness a couple of weeks ago). I'm talking you about Lt. Commander Dunta Polo, the mighty Flight Leader of our Heralds of Maelstrom. The guy flew no less than 143! missions to date for March... he has been stealing each and every Wing X and Tempest title available with very few exceptions (hey there, Gio and Nav'ric! ;-))... and chances are he will get the TC SP Ace title for this month too, not to mention he was Feb 09 Wing X Pilot of the Month... May the Flight Office and our esteemed (until I finish with those barrels-o'-quality he's esteemed because I say so) Wing Commander award him each and every medal and title available. But what I bring you here are a few boxes full of rotten vegetables and potentially lethal projectiles in the form of heavy hardened bread for you to explain him what do you think on his stellar performance. Aim for the head, gentlemen >;-) The Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet came 2nd in March XvT Week of War! And if you have read the first news entry on this very report chances are you already know who's the main suspect behind these behaviours. BUT! This time he had the inestimable help of Colonel Dax Corrin from Green Squadron, all a MP 1337 for those of you who never met him before. But then again, 2 men don't make a club, let alone a Fleet (except if that club has LT Xgmx as its founder and even then it would be a 1-man club :-P). And now I could tell you how much would I appreciate to see at least a few of our Riders involved on MP stuff... but thinking it twice I realize it would mean less DFCs for me so, pleeeeease, mantain your MP performance exactly where you have it. >:P And at first rotten vegetable and/or piece of bread I see flying towards me I kill Sergeyli I tell you. ??!!! 0__o But... no WAIT!!! Arrrghhh!! Stop it you psychos! NO!!! *OUCH* X__x
( Spoilers! Ahhhh... I've come to know that now that our last edition of "I think therefore I lose" competition is finally over, you're looking forward to unveil what will be your next mind challenge. Splendid! Splendid! For that means your heads are more than just the bottle tops everybody says they are. Ok, my subdits, here I bring you some nasty spoiler on our next riddle; be the first to solve THIS fancy cube and you'll get a nice surprise, with l0ve from your CMDR:
But don't do it just yet, and please wait to be far from me; I wouldn't want to distract you... ^_^ )
Not necessary to remind you, gentlemen, that this is the LAST WEEK of "Fire Demons vs. Storm Riders!". If I don't see ALL your pilotfiles on my desk before April 5th I won't be a happy CMDR and you... you will be history... a sad history to tell actually. Please don't forget that I'll be right here for anything you might need, including tactical help on how to fly those 2 FREEs and you're still in time. Later I'll be here as well, but under my Lieutenant CoRoneR alter-ego, only concerned about your autopsy. We cannot let those Praes to win, my Riders! Praetorian Delenda Est!!! <--- (find yerselves a good latin dictionary dammit! >:P) Yet another weekly Tempest website update, as usual. Don't forget to check the site often as one of your primary sources of useful information and bollocks of all kinds. All complaints are to be sent directly to General Domi, our esteemed Wing X WC, with the subject: "Sir, I've heard that after many years of excellent performance and true commitment in behalf of the ISD Challenge and the Fleet as a whole you have managed to regain the rank you started with as all a General. And now I'm wondering... does it mean that if I keep doing my best I'll be Sub-Lieutenant again in 10 years? :_P " And here, gentlemen, you have the current status of our 2 ongoing monthly competitions! Yeah, well, I admit *SOME* of you actually know what -flying- really means, but it doesn't mean you know the basis on how to read a book further than its title, and that if you're under a good planet alignment. What am I supposed to do with the "Tempest Student of the Month" title under these conditions, gentlemen? >:F Tempest Pilot of the Month - March '09 LCM Dunta Polo - 143 missions (and Tempest Pilot of the Week on 03/16 - 03/22 and on 03/23 - 03/28!) Tempest Student of the Month - March '09 Another week with no IWATS coming from YOU and I recruit HIM I tell you!! And THIS time I'm talking serious. Then again, here you are MY score (laserless, of course) for "Your patience is MINE!" competition. However, take note that deadline was YESTERDAY so pilotfiles for this one won't be accepted anymore. I'll announce the final results on days ahead, and it's gonna be an easy task I tell you... Slackers... ¬¬
"TAC's citation hunt"!! This is pure epic, let alone your chance of getting a nice IS-SW or even IS-GW for yerselves! Get up to 20 NEW Battle Citations for The Riders on the Storm for the silver thingie or up to 40 no less for the goldie one. You know the mechanics, gentlemen: Go HERE, find what battles are we closer to get the citation (we're 9 pilots so we're gonna need a minimum of 6 having flown any given battle) and... you know... FLY THEM!!! I'm counting on you and your commitment to Tempest Squadron for this one! :-D Right now we've a total of 5 new Battle Citations for March. Not enough! NOT ENOUGH!! And there's only 3 days left... (*sigh*) I suppose I'll need to explain you in detail why to have only 2 or 3 pilots flying there is NOT ENOUGH for us to get those Citations... -__-U

Note on order 4: if you can't actually realize this IS NOT a RL way to go you should request transfer to the Redemption or something... ¬_¬
V.) Someone flew over the Ewok's Nest (aka. CMDR's Corner)
The almighty Tempest Squadron, The Riders on the Storm, have been recently challenged by Praetorian Elite Squadron, The Fire Demons, in a flying competition. And for the glory! For the victory! For bells and whistles and all sorts of senseless merits that nobody else would care about, let alone some healthy lust for overall domination... and to defend ourselves and our commitment against elite wickedness... we sorta need to *WIN* this competition! Today I bring you a space combat scene. The ISDII Challenge and the DGN Lichtor V arrived at this sector of space about an hour ago for yet another demonstration of Fleet-level mayhem. The 'Chal' launched Tempest Squadron while Praetorian in full left the Hangar of the... the... emmm... ('Lic'? 'Lich'? 'Loch'?... 'Ness'? :P) that black monster thing floating out there resembling everything but a ship. Now 17 pilots from both Squadrons are engaged in close combat. You'd think they're using dummy lasers and warheads since that's the usual behaviour on friendly TIE Corps Squadron vs. Squadron competitions... Well... these are not normal Squadrons (they even fly missions or so the legend tells!), this is not the usual competition, they're not friendly by any means (way too much alcohol erradicated all remains of friendship hours ago) and, definitely, you wouldn't want to be hit by one of their laser beams today. It's only that their ejecting systems usually work very well (and when they don't it's not that bad 'cos it means yet another open spot for grabs) and both motherships have launched Transports to pick up all ejected pilots immediately. Now we'll use a little zoom and take a closer look on what's going on out there. Lt. CoRoneR Zósite K. Styles, The Wicked CMDR of Tempest, is right now trying to evade one of the TIE Praetors on his "Cuiviëdûr" TIE Defender. But Alas! Those things are but VERY maneuverable, and FAST, and Zósite's TIA tells him that the bandit is locking missiles upon him as close as 0.7 clicks. <LC Zós> Nice... and thinking that I refused to carry chaff 'cos I never liked to be engulfed by sissy fireworks... >:_{ Maybe if I divert all laser power to engines I could... But suddenly the T/Pr on his tail blows up in tiny pieces, vaped by one of Tempest's T/Ds from the Storm Knights which is now approaching Zós' "Cuiviëdûr" from behind. The Lt. CoRoneR takes a look at his HUD; it's the "Astra Fighter". <LC Zós> Hey, Dan! Thanks a lot for the help, I was about to pull out my chips for the floating idling. :-D <COL Dan> No problem... Zós... <(Floating) MAJ Von Hoffman> Curse you both... ¬¬ <LC Zós> Ok, Colonel, now we're gonna provide a little help to Lt. Commander Polo and his men on vector 3.4-14... The "Astra Fighter" launches blind-lock adv. concussion surprises against Zósite's Defender all of a sudden!! And only a tight dodging just in time saves the Wicked CMDR of Tempest from pulling out his chips after all. <LC Zós> WHAT THE...?!!! Dan!!! 0____x <COL Dan> Sorry, Sir... seems my launching system is under malfunction since that last laser hit. <LC Zós> Hmmmpfff... deactivate it already then you fool! >:P But there's no time for chatter! Two more Praetors on quick approaching, including "The Hobbit" itself piloted by Colonel Frodo March (Fr0f0, the not-so-wicked-yet-even-top-dangerous-and-definitely-crazy CMDR of 'Prae' for friends). The two T/Ds move away from each other to avoid offering the Praetors an easy target. <COL Frods> Look there, Deimos! But if they are no less than a former 'Chal' Commodore and his CMDR-consort. >:) <COL Deimos> That's what you say, Sir. As well as my sensors. But it's curious; all I can see are a pair of smoking wreckages on MY way. <COL Frods> That's actually foreseeing, my friend. Let's make it real!! LC Zósite's fighter flies as fast as possible towards a nearby little asteroid looking for cover. <LC Zós> Vitaru dammit!!! I could use some of your missiles over here! What the hell are you doing?! >:F <CM Vitaru> Trying to clean up the battlefield and keep it tidy, Sir! I'm after Colonel DV... ):___P <LC Zós> Sergeyli? <(Floating) LCM Sergeyli> Unable to comply at the moment... but hey! I brought my bottle... ^_^ <LC Zós> Curse you then! Alpha?! <CPT Alphafoxtrot> On my w... *CRACKLE* <(Floating) CPT Alphafoxtrot> Sorry, Sir... seems General Malik thought that crashing his spooky thing upon my poor MIS was a good idea... <(Floating) GN Malik> ·"%"¬~@fd$&/gsh{}r[trx¨Ç^^* ~>:F <LC Zós> Oh, come on... -__-U Unable to think on a better way to get rid of his foes Lt. Colonel Zós starts looping near the asteroid and when both TIE Praetors start looking for his six he stops engines all of a sudden in order to lure them into an easy target position right in front of him. A quad-laser shot combined with double ions puts an end to this version of "The Hobbit" while Colonel March is ejected still wondering what the hell has just happened. <(Floating) COL Fr0f0> Aaaargh... this is the *LAST* time I got fooled with such a silly trick... :_| Deimos!! Do the madman something nasty and gruesome! Colonel Deimos is definitely an old TIE Corps fart, seasoned pilot with hundreds of mission highscores under his belt, and if someone is capable to scare the crap out of the Lt. CoRoneR it might be him. Not necessary to say he smelled the trap in time and didn't come in front of Zós' cannons. Actually, he's now right at his six shooting as if there's no tomorrow and Zósite's shields go to hell under his rage. <LC Zós> Ayayayayayayayayayayay!!!! This dude is gonna steal me my deserved third dimension if I don't play with extreme caution. OUCH! X__0 There go my sensors... Now if I could... only... reach... ... that... ... ... asteroid... ... ... >:_____\\ <COL Deimos> You're mine. Say bye, Zós. >:-J <COL Dan> Bye, Zós. ^.^ The asteroid explodes in a million rocks following the impact of a heavy rocket launched from the "Astra Fighter". Those little flying assassins find both Colonel Deimos and Lt. CoRoneR Zós TIEs and level them to nothing while the two pilots are ejected safely... in the middle of flying rocks chaos... <(Floating) COL Deimos> DOH! DOH! DOH! Stop them! Aaaargh!!! DOH! xP <(Floating) LC Zós> DAN!!! By Rapier's birth date! What the hell are you... *DOH!* xP W-What the hell are you supposed to be doing?! Who... *DOH!* xP Who on earth do you think you're fighting against you psycho?!! <COL Dan (Locking all remaining heavy rockets)> The Ghost of Xmas Past... >:-J <(Floating) LC Zós> (:____________D VI.
