Commodore's Thoughts

Let us begin with some good news by congratulating our newest member on his promotion to LT. Well done Zephon! I'm glad to see our young Kappans are all off to stellar careers.

As the TCCOM mentioned in his report, I submitted the ship's evaluation last Tuesday. We're all going to have to be patient on account of our SOO's brief leave of absence. In the meantime, Squadron Commanders can pat themselves on the back for a timely performance with the MSEs. We had a good month, so don't let the delay bother our momentum. And from what I can tell from looking at my inbox, you're all doing just fine with the LoCs and SP flying this month as well. Keep it up.

The competition details for the Commodore Protector/Wingman competition saw a brief delay, but I managed to send them to the wing this week. I have already received several submissions... All of which have already beat my score. Looks like this comp will boost the medal forging industry after all! Remember, get TIE Free 278 flown and off to your Commander before May 24th to get in on the fun, and honorary titles.

After the conclusion of said competition, we will be approximately one week away from the next instalment of Raise the Flag. Be ready.

From the Bridge of the Warrior

The crew of the ISD Warrior is assembled in the Hangar bay to see off Theta Commander Jarek La'an for his LoA

COL La'an: What do you mean I have to go on vacation?
Deck Officer: Sir, we have our orders, you need to go. You've accumulated too many vacation days, and the EH can't afford to pay it off if you don't take them. Please board the shuttle.
COL La'an: But... That ...But... Mell will be in charge! Surely you can't let that happen! He's drunk already! Look!

La'an points to Colonel Mell Kerrigan who is leaning on the hangar wall, bottle of liquor in hand, loudly recounting a tale of TCBG glory.

Deck Officer: *shrugs* We're aware of that sir. The Wing Commander said that we'll just have to, and I quote, "Take that risk".
COL La'an: Tauntaun manure! Fine. But I'll fly more than all my pilots while I'm gone! Mark my words!
Deck Officer: Sure you will sir, sure you will.

Loud shouts of "Let's party! Its my birthday!!" are heard from Mell's general direction as La'an boards the shuttle.


Conclusion

Well, I suppose I'd be ignoring facts if I didn't say anything about the Hammer being filled before us, albeit briefly. That being said, we do need to watch my blood pressure, so we'll keep things positive. Don't get too wrapped up into these kinds of things. It's not over until the last day of RTF. Bragging rights are fleeting.

With AWOLs on the horizon, we will simply have to look at the bright side of things as I remind you all that such events simply clear space for new pilots. Or new old pilots, which is also nice. Recruitment initiatives will be heavily rewarded. Keep that in mind.
