  •   Commander's notes

Well, after almost a week of trouble it would appear my e-mail issues with the mailing lists have been resolved. Just in time to bring you another weekly wally squadron report.

First off, a mighty big congrats go out to a whole bunch of people, starting with LT Landon Cruise who was promoted to Lieutenant Commander earlier this week. Excellent work, sir!
Next, we have COL Elwood the Brave who was promoted to Rear Admiral as he took command of the ISDII Hammer as the first Commodore the TC has seen in ages. Although very quickly followed by High Admiral Frodo March who finally decided to l;eave the M/FRG Phoenix behind and take command of our second Star Destroyer, the ISDII Warrior. I hope I'm at least partly guilty - Warrior was my suggestion back when the TCCOM sent out an e-mail for suggestions which ISD to open up.

That leads us to one of the biggest events in my time in the TC - the actual opening of a new ISD instead of the usual closing of one. I hope to see more of these!

In other news, Our new COM has issued a flying competition based on weekly assigned free missions and I'm glad to report I got 2 wins out of 3 this week, plus a second place. Let's see if I can de better and get a perfect score next week! I urge you all to fly the missions, or at least one of them, as well. Not only because it increases your own chances of success and medals (enough participants means more medals to be won), but also because it increases mine (hey, you know how long it's been I got a chance to win a medal? :) Read the COM's report (e-mail or on the site) for more info!

The Where Were You Last Night competition has finished. I haven't had time yet to make a decision, so that will wait until next week. Although I have to admit I had expected more than 3 submissions. Maybe next time...

As far as learning goes - I have learned this week that my pilots are not very well versed in modern cinema of the horror variety. One pilot who shall rename unnamed even managed to get every single question wrong. And it wasn't even obscure movies I was going for - that will be the objective next time :) In the mean time - congrats to LC Nelson who managed to get the most out of this week and regulary Star Wars based trivia will resume on Monday!

Lastly this week - there's a lot of competitions out there this week that don't require flying. So if you can't fly or don't have the time, see about participating in those! There's motto competitions, graphic design stuff, bughunts

      In the headlines this week

  •   Important Competitions

Competitions are the livelihood of this thing we do for fun. I encourage all of you to enter as many competitions as you want to/can. And just let me know about it! Don't forget to check out the website for more information.

    Delta squadron competitions

  • Delta's Weekly Trivia
Each day of the week (Mon-Fri) you will receive an email with a trivia
question, same as before. 3 pts for the first correct answer, 2 pts for
second and 1 pt for 3rd. At the end of the week, the one with the
most points wins the shiny. As usual, there's extra shinies available for
    accumulating set amounts of points.

    Wing I/ISDII Hammer competitions

  • Hammer on Patrol
Each week the COM assigns 3 free missions in his report. Fly them for weekly points (highest score based),
weekly platform and monthly overall winners get the shinies.

  • Hammer's Pilot of the Month
For every flown SP mission from the TC mission compendium and for every LoC earned each pilot receives 1 point
for the HPotM competition. The pilot with most points at the end of the month is the ISD II Hammer's
Pilot of the month and receives an IS-GW. Second will receive an IS-SW and third an IS-BW.

    TC wide competitions

  • Ace of the TIE Corps
Each mission flown during a month will count towards your score, with shinies for the top 3 pilots.
At the end of the year, the TC's Top Gun will win a rare IS-PW!

  • MP Ace of the TIE Corps
Each multiplayer victory flown during a month will count towards your score, with shinies for the top 3 pilots.
At the end of the year, the TC's Top Gun will win a rare IS-PW!

  • Star Conflict's Beacon Hunt 2
This will be a test of your skill to capture as many beacons as you can in one round with a victory.
In layman's terms, in a Beacon Hunt mode game, capture the beacon as many times as you can in one round.

  • Hammer's Banner Competition
The ISD II Hammer needs a banner. Power up your graphic software and create something impressive including
an ISDII. Make sure it also features the Hammer's motto and/or Nickname in some way.

  • This is the TIE Corps
Write an 'about us' section for the TC website.

  • MUD Bug Hunter
Play on the MUD at mud.fox-developments.co.uk, port 6100. Whenever you find a bug, report it.
Top bug spotters win a special prize once the MUD goes live.
