TIE Corps Command Report
Weekly Report #50 – Submission date: February 23rd 2014
Introduction

Fifty! Some twists, some turns, but here we are. A few more weeks and I’ll have been TCCOM for a year in this stint. Thanks to all who supported and assisted me in getting this far.

First, some personal real life news, that may have some impact in the TIE Corps: I have just been hired by another engineering company, which will make move from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro next month. It’s a great thing to change and evolve in one’s professional career, but I can’t really say right now how much it will affect the TC, especially since it involves changing states. I don’t think it will be necessary to step down or anything, but I expect to have a little less time to dedicate in the next few months, until things get settled and I’m on full throttle again. I really appreciate your understanding on this matter.

Back to the TIE Corps! One week after another, this club is improving! With the many arrivals we’ve had, which you can check out right below, I have started a poll to decide which ship would be the most popular choice to be reopened. As of now, we have 27 votes, and the ISD Challenge leads with 6 votes, followed closely by the Colossus with 5. The Intrepid and the Grey Wolf both have 4 votes, while the Immortal has 3. The Vanguard, Relentless and Subjugator all have 1 vote each. Two votes went directly to the idea of opening the only ISD never to be used on active roster, the ISD Warrior, being these 2 against opening a formerly opened ship. Besides those two votes, 5 other people have suggested that we should open the ISD Warrior, which brings 7 people in favor of the idea, which is higher than the votes for the ship in first place, giving this idea some weight. If you haven’t yet but want to, feel free to let me know that you are in favor of this idea, regardless of the ship you already voted for. If you haven’t voted yet, do so and let me know if you are in favor of the idea of opening the Warrior, but also let me know which of the former opened ships you’d like to see back in action. This poll doesn’t have a deadline, but if comes the time we have to open a new ship, make sure you have already voted, or you’ll miss your chance.

Earlier in the week, Lambda Squadron had 3 new arrivals: GN Pickled Yoda, who had his GN rank reinstated, and also COL Torres and COL Handril Madon. These new arrivals made Lambda complete the unbelievable mark of 12 pilots in just a couple weeks of existence. Welcome home, guys!

That, until LT Landon Cruise was promoted to the position of Flight 3 Leader on Delta Squadron, which also caused the transfer to Delta of his brother, COL Jacob Van Nowak, and also the assignment in Delta of SL Neo Roswell, for which LT Cruise was awarded the Medal of Instruction. SL Roswell has just completed his INPR, so we will have him promoted to LT in no time. With this, it was Delta that completed its roster with 12 pilots!

Alpha Squadron also had a couple returnees this week: COL Jan Wemmel and MAJ Jedgar returned from being missing in action, and their shuttle came directly to the ISD Hammer. Welcome back, gentlemen!

The other new recruit, SL Kryysta Calthranus, completed training and arrived in Beta Squadron! For her recruiting, MAJ Kyle Kroan got a Medal of Instruction! Welcome to the Fleet, Kryysta, and congrats, Kyle!

A small change in seats in Gamma Flight 2: MAJ Tuba moved from Gamma 2-3 to Gamma 2-2, and CPT Dante moved from Gamma 2-4 to Gamma 2-3.

MAJ Kyle Kroan has also been kind enough to offer himself to assist in an update of the IWATS Core Course. He has already submitted his changes and as soon as we review it, we’ll send them to the TO for updating, whenever he can. Thank you, Kyle!

In a noteworthy event, we have been contacted by no one less than Sector Admiral Kawolski himself! As you know, SA Kawolski was the creator of the first and amazing TIE Corps database! He is doing very well in life, and was quite glad to see that the TC got a database and dedicated website back. Sadly, SA Kawolski can’t return to active duty on any manner at this point, but I was already happy to take him off inactive status and place him in the Reserves, so he can order Frothy around or something ;)
