STRATEGIC OPERATIONS OFFICER
Report #18, 06 October 2013

Opening Comments

Previous reports from my office have often made use extensively of words like quiet, slow, or hoping. Suffice to say in the last 3 weeks since I issued a report I am happy to say that all three have somewhat fallen out of use. The implementation of the new-old TC site and database has dragged us all kicking and screaming BACK to an earlier and arguably happier stage of this club's history. I can't help but feel a little nostalgic every time I come to use the site, and particularly happy at the way it functions. A few minor items of data were initially astray, but Zosite has spent the last week (in addition to many months previous) seeking out and correcting errors within the database that are a product of our hop-skip-and-jump approach to record keeping over the previous 10 years. CoBs for RSVs, old FCHG totals, and even NL96 have fired in and out of my inbox in the past few days to name but a few more random topics, indeed I now know that I joined the EH and TC on April 26th 2003, officially making me an old bastard I believe (Gilad and others excluded obviously as they hail from an even older and darker time...).

From the renewed activity and contact with RSVs that this has already spawned we are all hopeful that this marks a big reversal in fortunes for the TC, so stay tuned for updates as the weeks crawl on into the ever closing 2014. I am aware that the TCCOM will be mailing the RSVs shortly to make them aware of our recent changes, so barring any attempts from the Phoenix COM to jam our comms we might even get a few replies. Other than that I would ask you all to stay tuned to Dan's reports for updates on medals and similar as we are currently updating and rebuilding numerous profiles. Many thanks to Dempsey and Kroan for their support of Zosite in that particular endeavour. Of course if anyone believes they are having issues with logging on to the new site or any profile issues then get in touch directly or via the mailing list and we'll figure things out as we go - but so far so good...

The next stage of Karana has been delayed due to the mysterious disappearance of its tester, but another worthy victim has been found and is presently conducting the testing required. Stay tuned.

Fleet Status

Active and busy, multiple pilots flying, the COO working on MP proposals, the TAC, TCCOM, myself and particularly Zosite working on the site. All in all a strong position, so well done to all involved. Suitable rewards are sitting on the FCs desk for approval or will be very shortly!

Weekly Orders

Our shakedown cruise is now complete, the last step having been the resetting of the ship's main computer cores and access codes. If indeed any insurrectionist elements remain onboard the Hammer we have greatly reduced their ability to access and influence our electronic systems. With this in mind we have now commenced transit back to our primary zone of operations, with ETA in the next 48 hours. We are using this time to continue emergency drills and tactical exercises, all personnel are to consult their mess and department stations for updates to schedules as they emerge, standby for unannounced drills presaged by a verbal announcement on the ship's internal comms.

As we escalate back to a combat footing the first duty squadron will be Gamma, with Delta at short notice to support. Other pilots should be taking this time to get into the simulators and get hands on with their craft, we don't want operational capability impaired by any desire to take the easy option in maintenance or training. We will be rendezvousing with further assets in our op area, so expect to see elements of our own battlegroup in the very near future, as well as the Immortal and Relentless as they cycle into a border patrol assignment.

The past weeks have remained quiet of Void Raptor activity but intel has been picking up increased chatter from across our border with the NR, it would certainly appear that the Raptor forces have spent the past months licking their wounds and rebuilding their strength within NR space. Whether this has been with their knowledge or not, at this stage we don't care as the primary threat remains Raptor forces making opportune strikes. I have a feeling this conflict will come to a head in the next few months, so stay up to date on threat assessments. Present alert level is high, make sure we conform to just what that means.

Conclusion

Forwards,

In Service,
