TIE Corps Command Report

Weekly Report #4 – Submission date: March 17th 2013

Introduction

Greetings,

As you’ve been reading through regular fleet communications, the TIE Corps has launched a campaign to bring down the so called “Void Raptors” and its leader, Val Duquesne. These pirate-type troublemakers have practiced innumerous raids to convoys and liners in the Karana Sector, and must be dealt with quickly. We will be establishing a base in this sector to launch our operations from. Your orders are to pursue and capture Duquesne and their lieutenants for questioning, and are cleared to dispose of any of their fleet. Intel says that we have a major tactical advantage in the sector, but beware, as some advanced crafts have been spotted, which leads us to believe that there may be someone sponsoring their activities. Investigate wherever possible, destroy any pirate forces you find, and capture key elements. FA La’an will brief the squadrons on their respective assignments. Good luck, pilots.

The scenario placed above has resulted in the release of The Karana Initiative competitions, which will be composed of a series of integrated comps with the purpose of developing this story. The first phases of this competition will involve fiction and battle plot creation, where one entry will be selected as basis for a TAC created battle that will be used for the flying portion of the competition. As you’ve read in the background story, there are many avenues to choose from, so feel free to explore any or all of them as you please. There is even the possibility of taking stories that complement themselves and using them all, so this should bring a lot of ideas. Deadline is the end of the month, and usual Iron Stars for the first 3 places will be awarded, as well as a Commendation of Tactics for the best battle plot.

The last open command spot in the fleet has been filled! LCM Kyle Kroan has been promoted to Delta Squadron’s Flight 3 Leader. Congratulations, LCM Kroan, and good luck with your flight!

The MB based TAC competitions are ongoing, with several medals being awarded so far. Congrats to Crsepe and Clark! Keep checking the message boards for the following rounds of these competitions!

Database works progresses, as COL Zósite continues to adjust it to the new host. However, we are still waiting to get access to the data compiled by the current database, so we can place it in the new database. We’ll try not to let this delay our progress.

Kudos to both Dempsey and La’an for the background stories they came up with. Make good use of them for your entries in the comp.

Let’s get those pirates! Good luck!
