TIE Corps Command Report |
Weekly
Report #1 – Submission date: February 24th 2013 |
Introduction |
Welcome, my fellow
pilots, to the first TCCOM Report of this new stage!
As you know, GA
Rapier has decided to give me, once again, the opportunity to lead this
amazing group of pilots, in an attempt to invigorate the group and restore it
to its former glory. I’d like once
again to thank the Fleet Commander and the Executive Officer for this
opportunity, and also to thank FA Jedi Eclipse First for all his work in this
office in such a hard period for the club.
My assignment is
not exactly an easy one, considering the current state of things, which I
believe there’s no need to waste our time detailing it. So, the real question
is: what are we going to do about it?
The Fleet Commander
has authorized us to move to a different database. As much as we are thankful
for the service provided by the current database and its creators, it has
been created to be used as a platform for all the EH Groups, however, it
hasn’t been used for that purpose. The TIE Corps has some very specific
needs, and the current database can’t reach the level of detail and
refinement we require without major upgrading.
As you know, COL
Zósite is currently working full time on providing us with an alternative to
the database, based on the database designed by HA Dempsey, which was used
until the current one went online and was created specifically to meet TC
requirements. Zósite has been working on upgrading Dempsey’s database to a
level of detail that can be compared even to Kawolski’s database, if not even
better. Needless to say, it is our intention to use what I’d like to call,
with their permission, the Dempsey/Zósite database.
Switching databases
is not an easy thing. Even with our current skeleton membership, the TIE
Corps generates a high level of data every month, and all this information,
which is now stored in the current database, must be transferred to the new
database. For that end, we have assembled a task force, composed of me, HA
Dempsey and COL Zósite to work on this project and update Dempsey/Zósite’s
database so it can be ready for use. This could take a while, and until then
we are going to keep using the current database normally.
The database move
won’t solve all our issues, but it is a first step, and we’ll work from there
to raise the club’s provided services to a level of excellence the TIE Corps
members deserve. I hope that, when that is achieved, we can motivate some people
to come back to active duty. At the very least, the current members will be
part of something they will be very proud of. Of that, I have no doubt.
I’m counting on
everyone’s patience, support and assistance for us to achieve our goals,
since it will take a lot of effort and time from this task force.
Nonetheless, I don’t plan to neglect day to day issues of the club at all. My
response time will be daily and TCCOM reports will be weekly, which I also
expect from the Squadron Commanders, who are also required to submit their Squadron
Evaluations monthly, as usual.
I am opening the
position of Strategic Operations Officer to applications. Applicants must
provide me with a detailed plan for the position. Past experience at Command
level is required. The new SOO must be willing to assist me in day to day
operations of the club, at any assigned tasks such as TCPM reviews, and also
at the planning and executing of competitions. What I offer: one of the
highest salaries in the fleet, the opportunity to be awarded higher echelon
medals and ranks, and also to buy me a lot of drinks.
As of right now, I
have transferred my office to the Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer Hammer,
the flagship of the TIE Corps, which will be reflected in my ID Line. As you
have realized this week, this is a move some won’t agree, and I don’t mean
disrespect to my predecessors who commanded the fleet from VSDII Crusader in
any way. I just feel a lot more comfortable in an Imperial Star Destroyer, a
ship I commanded for a long time, and it might as well be this one. Despite
my heart telling me to go home to the Challenge, I feel this is where I need
to be. But who knows what the future holds?
I would like to
congratulate the Squadron Commanders on their awards and promotions. LC Dunta
Polo has been promoted to Colonel, while MAJ Dempsey has been promoted to
Lieutenant Colonel and COL Exar Kit has been awarded a Bronze Star of the
Empire. Congratulations, Commanders!
Also, I’d like to
congratulate LC Mark Schueler, Gamma Flight 2 Leader, on his promotion to the
rank of Colonel! Well done!
A number of medals
for many members have been awarded/approved since I took office.
Congratulations are in order to: MAJ Elwood the Brave, on his two Palpatine
Crescents and an IS-BR; MAJ Impulse on his Imperial Security Medal; LC
Anahorn Dempsey on her IS-GW; CM John T. Clark on his Imperial Security Medal
and his 3 IS-BRs; LCM Shado Fenn on his Imperial Security Medal; GN Gilad
Pellaeon on his IS-BR; COL Zósite Styles on his IS-BR; CPT Crix Talra on his
2 IS-BRs; and LT Kyle Kroan on his Palpatine Crescent and his IS-BR. Well
done, people!
I’d also like to
say that, regarding this office activity, the pending competitions have been
approved, Gamma, Alpha and Delta’s last two MSE’s have been reviewed, Alpha’s
roster has been updated to reflect the new Motto and Nickname selected, and
pilot files for CMDR Dempsey and MAJ Elwood were processed.
I’d also like to
remind you that Gamma Commander position is open for applications, and for
what I can gather so far, this will be a tough one to decide…good thing is, I
don’t think I can really make the wrong decision with this bunch…

Conclusion |
The TIE Corps main
goal is for all of us to have fun while role-playing Imperial oriented star
fighter pilots in the post-Endor Star Wars Universe. Command officers have an
extra role in all this, as they are also responsible to promote and evaluate
activity from those beneath them in the chain of command. Command officers are
always volunteers, and sometimes they must go through a high load of TC-based
work, while usually in very active and time consuming real lives.
These volunteers
have made the TIE Corps and the rest of the EH what it was, providing an
excellent environment for the members. Some twists and turns along the way
have made this club be diminished in some ways. It is one of my main goals as
TCCOM to restore the environment created by the hard work of all these
volunteers in about 20 years of existence of this club. I don’t know if we’ll
have more members, or if we’ll have newer game platforms that are actually
related to SW space flight, but what I can say is that, no matter what, I’ll do
my best to make the active members interested and proud to be a part of all
this.
We are here to have
a good time, and, no matter what, we will succeed at that. We are already
victorious, just by being here. Let’s innovate, let’s participate in what’s
going on, let’s create our own history, while never forgetting and always
respecting what has been created by our predecessors. This is the TIE Corps,
and we, my friends, are awesome.
Thank you all for
the support! I’ll try not to disappoint…
