TIE Corps, TCCOM Report

  • The TC awol has completed with less turmoil than I expected. We have two new squadron leaders and all commanders seem to be getting back into the swing of things!
  • There has been some serious talk on the lists recently about issues with the TC site and how it creates problems with activity.
    I would like to address some of those issues to let you know that they are being talked about at the higher levels.

    * Issues with BSF :
    - BSFs are submitted but do not seem to fully process:
    -- This is less an error and more of a lack of transparency. There are sometimes files that need to be processed by the TAC before they are cleared. Unfortunately, when any file uploads without breaking, it says that it was successful whether or not it is pending approval.
    - Some files are being flagged as having an error while they may not, these are "false positives" and can send your file to the TAC queue
    -- We will have to work with the TAC in correcting the logic that flags the errors.
    - BSF emails are formatted badly or do not have enough information
    - The BSF form is difficult to use
    -- I have created a mockup of a new version of the BSF form that I will release for all to see/get feedback on after I send it through the Commanders, the IO and the TAC. Once we are agreed as to how BSF will work we can start working on builgin a good system.
    * Roster issues
    - Sometimes members do not show up on the roster when moved to a new position.
    -- This is due to a prior member still being assigned to that position but in a status that makes them not show up on the roster.
    -- This can be mitigated by more careful use of the roster administration functions and creation of a new UI for this kind of change.
  • Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. I will gladly talk through any issue with any member.
