COMPETITIONS

I will summarize competitions that apply to Sin in this section, but you should always check the Competitions Center and Combat Center for full details on all competitions.

  • The Price of Sin - This is a weekly competition with a separate IS-BW awarded to the pilot earning the greatest number of LoC/LoS or highest number of SP missions flown. Minimum criteria for award is 2+ pilots participating across any of the 3 categories.

  • Warrior Trivia - Each week, Plif will send out a link pointing to five trivia questions for Wing II pilots to answer. The trivia questions will come from the canon Star Wars Universe and various Emperor's Hammer manuals, including the TIE Corps Pilot Manual. Whoever correctly answers all five questions the fastest wins an IS-BR.

  • TIE Corps on Patrol - Each Saturday, Woody will announce a free mission for TIE, XvT and XWA. Your mission: earn the highest score. For each platform, the weekly winner will receive an IS-SW, and second will receive an IS-BW. Participants also accumulate points for their participation.

  • TIE Corps on Recon - Submit a screenshot each week from one of Star Conflict's multiplayer game modes (Domination, Beacon Hunt, PvE, Team Battle, and Combat Recon). Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

  • TIE Corps vs AI - Submit a screenshot each week from Star Conflict's Player vs. AI modes. Iron Stars are awarded weekly and monthly based on unique criteria for each game mode.

CLOSING COMMENTS
It's officially December, the last month of 2017, and that's typically a time when I start to reflect on the year. It may seem dorky, but I started 2017 with a list of goals for what I hoped to accomplish within the TIE Corps this year.
  • Level up FCHG rating to Centurion Completed 2017-10-30
  • Earn Hammer Blacksmith of the Month SP Completed 2017-02-28
  • Earn a Legion of Combat (LoC) incomplete
  • Earn a Legion of Skirmish (LoS) incomplete
  • Earn a Medal of Instruction (MoI) Completed 2017-05-22
  • Design a TIE Fighter free mission Completed 2017-02-11
  • Fly 1500 SP missions incomplete but on track
Some of my goals changed over the course of the year. I gave up on Star Conflict in March after having nothing but frustration, and I still have a lot of skill building to do if I hope to earn LoCs from our weekly RS battles. I designed a TIE Fighter mission for Hawkins' 'Corps Under Attack' comp, but it didn't earn its way into the Compendium. I was able to convince my real-life best friend to join the TC in May, but I was unable to keep him active, and that makes the MoI feel a bit hollow.

However, there are a few accomplishments that I never dreamed I could accomplish this year: being SP Ace of the TIE Corps three times (February, September, October), being promoted to major, leading a squadron again, and being awarded a Gold Star of the Empire. That last one feels very special to me. I jumped out of my chair when the official award came through my email.

I've also made some strong connections within the Corps this year on both the Hammer and Warrior as well as the command staff. I'll never forget when I applied to be Epsilon CMDR in 2016 and Demps referred to me as 'a wee bit invisible.' That was true then, but I think I've started to make a name for myself within the Corps over the last 12 months. I owe much of that to the activity and dedication of the pilots of this squadron; you've made your commander look pretty darn good!

For Sin,
