TCCOM Report # 1 (2009-07-26)

This report was submitted by GCO-TCCOM/VA Viper Pred/CS-3(TC)/SSSD Sovereign

Those have been some crazy weeks for the TIE Corps. First, there was that surprising and shocking resignation of Jarek La'an, followed by a rushed Raise the Flag competition and several weeks of my absence. Let us just say that all those events did not have a positive effect on the TIE Corps.

For the past several years, we have been witnessing the slow yet steady downfall of our group. There were multiple reasons for this. The age of our platforms, the decline in Star Wars interest and the loss of the activity and community here in TIE Corps. While there is little that we can do to stop the two first reasons, we may have a chance of fixing the latter.

That is why in the following days the TIE Corps will undergo a change. The rosters will be changed to better accommodate the currently active membership. I know what you will think. 'Another restructure'. I was opposed to this idea myself, but I do not think that there is any other way to get the TIE Corps up and running again at this point. Wing Commanders and Squadron Leaders have already been informed about my plans and I shall start contacting members individually soon.

Obviously, a mere restructure itself is not enough for a solution. That is why along with the Strategic Operations Officer and the Dean of IWATS we are preparing a Fleet-wide competition. Information about it should start flooding you inboxes in a matter of days. We are also looking into making command positions, especially the Squadron Commander ones, more fun and less paperwork concentrated.

From other news, Vice Admiral Astin has been appointed as the new Strategic Operations Officer. replacing him as the Dean of IWATS will be Rear Admiral Jedi Eclipse. Congratulations to both of them. On the other hand, Commander Dunta Polo has resigned from his command of Green Squadron. This combined with the fact that both Major Talon Jade and Captain Aija Judarrl of Blue Squadron are currently on leave means that Wing XXI has been left virtually without leadership. Colonel Gunman has agreed to fill in as Blue A-CMDR for the time being, and Green Squadron is to report directly to Vice Admiral Astin.

Vice Admiral Viper Pred, signing off.
