Commodore's speech

It's been awhile since my last report. And frankly, I've been so busy last week doing a little redecorating, that again I missed most of what's been going on.

Most. Not all.

First off, congratulations are in order to our TCCOM, who was promoted to the rank of Fleet Admiral, and our SOO who was promoted to Admiral. And then GN Pickled Yoda was awarded an Imperial Cross for all his hard work, especially for the work on the RtF website. Not an easy feat, as this medal isn't often awarded to pilots in the TIE Corps. And lastly, I was awarded with the rarest of all medals in the club, the Order of the Renegade, as far as the database is concerned, only the 8th person to receive this reward. With people like Cyric, Havok, Kawolski and Ronin, I find myself in excellent company!

My stay at CERN has shown me how relacing life can be without the TC. I liked it. That doesn't mean I will leave you though, there still is plenty of work to be done. I just promised myself I;'d slow down a bit and take it easy for awhile. Of course, I've never been good at keeping promises I made to myself, so we'll see how far that goes. In the mean time, I have a few plans from a TACcy perspective that should hopefully take shape in the not too distant future. Thanks again here to HA Frodo for keeping the TAC Office going during my absence.

Competition wise, we have a few competitions ending this month (or is it last month?). Thanks again to AD Pellaeon for running Hammer on recon while I was away. However, last month's results have made me terminate this competition prematurely... if I get second place for the whole month after only sending in screenshots on the very first day it runs, there's something wrong, which was also demonstrated by the submission of exactly 1 screenshot last week. I know people are flying SC, they're just not sending in the screenshots. Not a clue why....

Fortunately, the GoG Games - TIE Fighter competition is doing better. This month we even had one pilot sending in a pilotfile so he can join the competition next month (or this month?). And of course he will also be eligible for the participation awards, having flown all the battles up to now. Results for battles 7 and 8 are below, and in August we fly Battle 9: T/D Technology.

So with 8 out of 13 battles flown, I am well in the lead, but by no means sure of victory here. What is certain is that the aforementioned personnel have secured the IS-BW for participation, and it might even be upgraded to an IS-SW if they also submit the remaining battles. And as always - anyone is welcome to send in pilotfiles next month to join the fun. Just remember - if you have not yet participated, be sure to send me a pilotfile wityh all battles upto battle 8, and a separate one for all battles upto battle 9, so I can see your battle 9 score! All medals will be recommended shortly.

Also, it seems there's another round up for the Commendation of Loyalty. All commanders are to submit their MSE and their CoL recommendation before the weekend!

    Dempsey's Weekly Riddles

Every week, the report will have a riddle. First pilot to send the correct answer to the mailing list wins. Each victory earns you an IS-BR. Unless it's a 5th victory, you then get a IS-SR. Unless it's a 10th victory, which gives you an IS-GR. A 25th victory will give you an IS-PR!

This week's riddle: A king is on a cross-sea voyage and as soon as they get off of their boats he spots the most beautiful elephant he has ever seen. He decides to take it home, but first, he wants to know its weight. The largest scale they brought only goes up to 50 pounds. The king demands that his smartest scholar must come up with a solution or pay the consequences. After several days he finally comes up with an answer. How could they measure the wight of the elephant?

    Last week's winner: AD Pellaeon

Current standings: FA Woody: 6; LC Clark, CM Hawkins: 5; AD Pellaeon, HA Bonini, GN Pickled Yoda, COL La'an, LC Tempest, CPT Fenn, CM Jast, CM Doc, LCM Hav Antiel, LCM Archenksov: 1

    Wrapping up

Last month appears to have been rather slow. Next month I will try to revive the ship with a ship wide competition for all. I have 4 weeks to plan this thing and come up with what I wanna do, so that should be doable :) Also, it seems I hit 200 IS-SW medals. That's a nice little round number.
