TIE Corps Command Report
Weekly Report #110 – Submission date: April 19th 2015
Introduction

So it seems that we might have just the time to do one more, so welcome to the last edition of the TCCOM report, in this tenure of mine in this office.

Seemed like yesterday, the date was February 21st 2013 when I was once again honored with the assignment to lead the TIE Corps, a position I held this time for over 2 years. I remember clearly the state of the fleet when I took charge, and it was not a pretty sight. The mission before us was straightforward, yet very difficult, to rebuild what was once one of the best Star Wars experiences there was.

We had an action plan in place, with the priority to reinstate the TIE Corps dedicated database created by HA Dempsey, in which VA Zósite Kónstyte Styles had been working for no less than 2 years, and as such restore all TIE Corps functions that the TC needed to properly work, and that the EH database clearly failed at, which we did, with the support and approval of the Fleet Commander.

And so we worked with this enormous task in the course of several months. We couldn’t, however, allow the fleet to remain in its activity hiatus, so in the meantime we restored all fleet evaluation processes, and created a new storyline, in which The Void Raptors’ competitions were based upon, thus placing the fleet in a much needed activity motion, whist restoring all evaluation procedures and fleet operations.

When the TC database finally went online, we launched a very time consuming and difficult recruitment campaign, targeted mostly at our former members, calling them home. We were glad to see that many of them have returned, and with other recruitment drives from newer platforms, we managed to open new squadrons, and finally the ISD Warrior.

We certainly reached a high point nearly a year ago, when Raise the Flag 2014 took place, where unprecedented levels of activity were seen. It was beautiful. I expect no less from RtF 2015, which will happen soon under new management. Do your best for your squadrons, your ships, yourselves, and the fleet. Most of all, have fun!

Finally, we managed to update and adapt many aspects of the fleet and create new things that haven’t even been released yet, all of which are summarize in the new TIE Corps Pilot Manual, that should be released to you all very soon. There will be some adjusting to do, so please bear with those in charge, all is done in the hopes to improve the TIE Corps even further, and it will. Please keep in mind that nothing can ever be perfect, and we do what we can to ensure there is improvement, but without ever forgetting where we came from, the history of this club and the thousands of incredible members that made it what it is.

But my work would have failed miserably if it wasn’t for all of you, so I’d like to take a moment here in my final report to thank you all, older or newer members, for your hard work, support and understanding.

Most of all, I have to show my appreciation to the TC Admiralty, who always worked close to me, sometimes against all odds. So I’d like to thank all my Strategic Operations Officers, who have been at first GN (then FA) Jarek La’an, VA Zósite Kónstyte Styles and now VA Elwood the Brave, for their constant support and hard work for the TIE Corps on a daily basis. Also, I’d like to thank VA Crsepe, the Combat Operations Officer, who has been the foundation of this fleet’s unbelievable multiplayer activity.

I must also show my deepest appreciation for the work of the ISD Warrior Commodore, HA Frodo March, who was my mentor in the TCCOM position, and leads the Warrior with nothing less than perfection, along with his infamous WC, COL Gilbert H. Frown. Likewise, I would be remiss to not express my thanks to HA Anahorn Dempsey, who as TAC, Delta CMDR and now ISD Hammer Commodore has always been there for whatever was necessary, assisting without hesitation, filling in in Zós’ absence for database issues. Thank you, my friends!

Finally, I once again would like to thank GA Rapier, for all his support and the recent award of the Medal of Honor. Over 15 years I dreamed of this day, and you made it happen. Thank you! As I said, I’ll be back for that Order of the Renegade sometime ;)

All in all, I believe the run has been successful. My mission here has been completed, and due to real life I now must take a moment for myself, and pass on the torch, so new ideas, new momentum and new days of glory can come. And I assure you all they will. The newest teaser has definitely shown that the Star Wars franchise is not dead, and neither is the TIE Corps. And it will never be, as long as we are here.

In that light, I must inform that immediately after the release of this report, my tenure will have come to an end, and the TIE Corps will be led by a new TCCOM. So I’d like to announce, first hand, that the new TIE Corps Commander will be no other than the current SOO, VA Elwood the Brave! Congratulations, Woody, I’m certain you will do an incredible job in this office. I’d like everyone to show Woody the same support you’ve given me, and he’ll certainly accomplish great things. The SOO position is not open for applications at this time.

But as I write this, the report has obviously not yet been released, I am still the TCCOM, and I have a job to do, so on with the TCCOM office news for the past week.

You saw a new competition hosted by me, to celebrate my MoH award. It has just reached its deadline, and I’d like to congratulate VA Elwood the Brave for achieving the best uniform quality, which you can now see in my profile, and also for the award of fastest submission, thus earning an IS-SR and an IS-BR. For his efforts in a much fun submission from GN Jarek La’an, who provided me uniforms for a possible future Theta assignment and M/FRG Phoenix duty uniform, he will be awarded the IS-BR. Although I never received a picture, LT Archenksov did submit a .ttt file, so I’m considering that as a submission. Thank you all for taking part in the competition!

As the Warrior’s last week, the Hammer MShipE has been reviewed by yours truly just today. Congratulations to all medal awardees from both ships for your efforts! Keep up the great work.

With the evaluation process for March completed, Medals of Communication have also been awarded, so congratulations to all of you as well!

Newly arrived at Delta Squadron, CM Drake Starfire has been promoted to Flight 3 Leader. Congratulations, Drake, and good luck!

Not all were good news in my final week, as I had to AWOL two members of Alpha Squadron. I hope LT Asertym and LT Darkilian Rav find their way back to the fleet in the near future.

All good things come to an end…I will miss this.

Quotes of the Week

1 – HA Frodo March, or was it COL Gilbert H. Frown: “Remember to lead by example. Which in this case means doing as little as possible.”

Whoever said it, I’ll be sure to remember that ;)

2 – HA Frodo March: “Yeah... but they spent the whole time running away from ISDs, dodging asteroids, avoiding space slugs, pretending to be garbage...”

LC Tempest: “Well, they were rebels.

So technically speaking, they weren't pretending. :P“

So true…

Conclusion

After pressing send and submitting his final report to the fleet as TIE Corps Commander, High Admiral Daniel Bonini took one final look at his office in the ISD Challenge, and headed for the bridge, to once again feel the atmosphere of the command bridge of the Star Destroyer he once led. There he remained for several minutes, admiring the beauty of the work of such a well trained crew, wondering how long would it take for his return to that placed he loved so much.

A young comms officer in the deck alerted the TCCOM to the arrival of some old friends from Theta Squadron, to escort him one final time. With the notice, HA Bonini sighted, saluted the crew of the Challenge. He then pointed to a known figure a few steps behind him, VA Elwood the Brave, saying: “you now set the tone…TCCOM Woody. Good luck, old friend!“ With their salutes, HA Daniel headed for the turbolift, down to the hangar of the ISD Challenge.

At the hangar, a Lambda-Class Shuttle awaited to transport the now-former TCCOM to the Modified Frigate Phoenix. But it was unlikely that the High Admiral would allow his TIE Defender, the Astra Fighter, to be ferried to the Phoenix battle group, so he decided to join his Escort Squadron, in escorting himself.

Once in space, La’an inquired: “so, Dan, down to the Phoenix?“, and the High Admiral replied: “I’m glad to have you at my wing one more time, old friend. if you don’t mind, I’d like to make a quick stop before“. The wing of fighters then entered hyperspace, exiting close to a couple of familiar triangle shaped ships, the Imperial Star Destroyers Hammer and Warrior, currently on the mission he had himself assigned them a couple days ago. “I just wanted to see them before I left. It’s not everyday you get to see the best pilots in the galaxy at the same place”.

With one final message to the crews of those gigantic ships, HA Daniel said goodbye to the people he call his friends, with a promise to return, as soon as he could…

Respectfully submitted, one last time,
