ISD-II Hammer
Commodore HA Dempsey reporting
Report ID: H.AD.011
Report date: April 19, 2015

Introduction...

High Admiral Dempsey once again admired the view out of the transpiristeel viewports on the ISD-II Hammer's bridge. This, she knew, was one sight she could never get enough of. This, she also knew, was a moment of serenity that would never last. Always, there would be someone to interrupt her. And this time it was the comm officer. She turned, and stepped towards the nearest comm unit. She punched up the numbers, and a message scrolled across the data screen. She punched another button. "Squadron Commanders, report to the briefing room in 5 minutes," she said. At that, she stood and walked off the bridge.

Five minutes later, she entered the briefing room where her four squadron commanders were waiting. She nodded, and each sat down. Dempsey walked to the other side of the table and punched up a holographic image of two orbital space stations. "These," she started, "are two orbital processing refineries that supply the Kester with the raw ore they need for their starships and weapons. When the Hammer drops out of hyperspace, you will launch, and destroy them. Alpha, your Missile Boats will be responsible for destroying platform Bogey One. Delta, your TIE Defenders will be responsible for destroying Bogey Two. Beta and Epsilon will fly cover in their TIE Advanceds. The enemy is bound to launch a few starfighters, so you will be busy."

She slided a few datapads over the table to the Commanders. "These contain the specifics of your orders and targets. Study them and prep your men, you have about two hours to get ready."

The man stood up and saluted. Then they turned and walked off. This was going to be a fierce fight...

Commodore's speech

Well, it's been another strange week in the TC. First, we were bombarded with the news of the TC COM announcing his resignation. It's been a while since he's been at the job and he's done a marvellous job. Once more, thank you for all you have done! The good news is I do expect a suitable replacement to be chosen, knowing Dan, he's already got someone in mind, he wouldn't leave the TC hanging.

The Fleet Commander also acknowledged HA Bonini's service to the EH by awarding him a Medal of Honor. It's been a long time since that medal has been awarded to anyone, and again it is one more than deserved!

Next up, I'm glad to see I returned to my former self again, bagging myself 3 out of 4 TIE Corps on Patrol missions, and it feels good to finally beat COL Harvey in the TIE part of it. I'm said to see Balance of Power being relegated to the sidelines, but that was to be expected with so little free missions available. One more shot at a perfect week!

It seems I completely forgot to publish the results for The GoG Games - TIE Fighter Battle 3. So a little late, but here it is:

That said - I'd like to remind people they have less than TWO weeks to get in their submissions for The GoG Games - TIE Fighter Battle 4 and for The GoG Games - X-wing Tour of Duty 2. Especially the X-wing one is not one you wanna wait with until the last moment - no ingame cheats to save the day, and it is a full 12 missions! This is also the last week you can submit your Pazaak screenshots to the COO for their Pazaak competition!

Raise the Flag 2015 is upon us, and the preparations are bing made. They are kind of crossing with a competition I had in mind myself for June, so I'll just bring that one forward to May. Expect details in my next report.

I'd also like to welcome to the Hammer CM Drake Starfire who has transferred from the Warrior back to his original station. Welcome aboard!

Despite many attempts, the Hammer on Recon competition is still disappointing. Not in achievements, but in participation. This week, 3 people submitted screenshots, when I knoew there are many more who are actively flying in Star Conflict. Come on folks, send em in!

Last for this week: expect some new missions to hit the Compendium soon. Although I'm still awaiting the final test results on my own X-wing battle, several TIE missions have been submitted and are being tested. After some minor edits, they should be ready to go. Soon, those who do not have the X-wing sim can fly the X-wing missions anyway, but in TIE Fighter! That said - if anyone is flying X-wing and wouldn't mind testing some stuff, let me know!

    Dempsey's Weekly Riddles

Every week, the report will have a riddle. First pilot to send the correct answer to the mailing list wins. Each victory earns you an IS-BR. Unless it's a 5th victory, you then get a IS-SR. Unless it's a 10th victory, which gives you an IS-GR. A 25th victory will give you an IS-PR!

This week's riddle: There is a brick of gold and a brick of iron in a boat (both of the exact same dimension), if they are both dropped into the water which will make the water level higher?

Last week's winner: GN Pickled Yoda

Current standings: VA Woody: 5; LC Clark: 2; HA Bonini, GN Pickled Yoda, COL La'an, LC Tempest, CPT Fenn, CM Jast, CM Hawkins, LCM Doc, LT Archenksov: 1

    Hammer on Recon

Submit your StarConflict screenshots to me. For Domination and Beacon Hunt, the highest number of captures wins. For Team Battle and Combat Recon, the highest number of "kills" wins, with assists counting for half a kill (rounded up). Submissions not earning a medal will earn an activity point. First place wins an IS-SW, 2nd a IS-BW (with 2 submissions or more, otherwise IS-BW for first). Submissions earn 4 pts for 1st, 3 pts for 2nd, 2 pts for 3rd and 1 pt for others. At the end of the month, the top 3 MP flyers will earn an IS-GW, IS-SW and IS-BW. 10 activity points wins an IS-BW and every 50th activity point will earn an IS-SW. Tie breakers: kills for Domination and Beacon Hunt, Captain Kill or pure kills for Team Battle and Combat Recon.

    Last week's results:

  • Domination: HA Dempsey (7), COL Pellaeon (6), MAJ Iceman (2)
  • Team Battle: HA Dempsey (27), COL Pellaeon (18)
  • Beacon Hunt: MAJ Iceman (5), COL Pellaeon (4/5), HA Dempsey (4/3)

    Wrapping up

I know I have submitted my pilotfiles for the TIE Fighter and X-wing competitions, have you? I know I also submitted my Hammer on Recon screenshots, have you? If the answer is no, then go and submit something...

Enough of that, now we go for next week which will be an exciting one I'm sure.
