Endless waves and cap ship grinding...................................

My opinion might be biased by the fact I am a fan of tactical approach to missions rather than grand battles. This battle sports three missions (1, 2 and 5) that are of the grand battle design. Furthermore all three of them give a very similar vibe. How many times can you destroy a Cruiser 'Justice'? Third time was the charm given the battle has ended. :P Mission 3 was the only one that actually got my interest. A 'hit and fade' took on the essence of X-Wing as a game. Even though, it did not sport any reasonable time limit that would further underline the pressure of a quick blow attack. Each mission sports 60 minutes time limit. Mission 4 was not only the shortest but most suicidal way to assault an ISD. Especially with its fighter wing intact.

This was a very fun battle other than mission 4 which your just an escort and no enemy ships?
Also for some reason the X-Wing mission do not seem to get added to your profile points wise correctly.

Pretty good. The later missions were a little too easy.. I actually fell asleep in the middle of some of them.. or maybe that was because I was at work.. *shrugs* Overall, I pretty decent battle.

names.

XWing CD:
1: Download and install XCD from the SCO Site (http://sco.minos.net), files archive, the edittors
section. (6k.) This will let you run custom missions. There is a full guide available
at the SCO site as well.

Waistem.BRF and Waistem.XWI in your new "C:\Mission" folder and use XCD to start X-Wing CD.

I would be flying the first XW-TC battle.
4. Fly the first 5 "Historical Combat" missions for the "X-Wing".

XWing 95/disk:

I would be flying the first XW-TC battle.
4. Fly the first 5 "Historical Combat" missions for the "X-Wing".

Description
-----------
This battle is part of a series of free missions about each of the squadrons in the ASF doing
missions following their squadron objective in their assigned craft. Each mission tries to give
a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are
interconnected and have the ASF Squadron join together against a common foe. These missions were
earlier released for XvT and TIE and have been bundled for this X-Wing collection - changes have
been made to include Avenger Flight II, which (used to) flys X-Wings.

Story Line
----------

MISSION 1: "Avenger Squadron vs CRS Justice"
Avenger Squadron, the ASF Elite Squadron, is based upon the VSDII Aggressor and its objective is
Special Operations. Special Operations Squadrons would be able to perform precisely
targetted missions in small flight groups so large amounts of EH assets are not risked.
This would include, but not restricted to, Kidnapping, Assassination, Psychological
Warfare, Special Insertion/Extraction and VIP Escort.
Avenger Squadron is currently under the very sucsessful command of MAJ Khameir Sarin, who has
actively rebuild the squadron, and earlier CMDRs were LC E.Tarkin, LC Death, COL Shups, COL Niksavel
and FA Priyum, the current FO. As elite Avenger Squadron has always belonged to the top ASF
Squadrons, if not of the TC as a whole.
In this mission you will have to preform Avenger Squadron's primary objective: Special Operations.
The EH has found out that a NR-SSF Calamari Cruiser is waiting for supplies near the EH Territories.
Avenger will join up with GUNs from Crusader Squadron to take it out.

MISSION 2: "ISD Grey Wolf - Strike on Platform"
The ISDII Grey Wolf was commissioned by Emperor Palpatine before the Battle of Hoth and was assigned
Flagship of (then) Vice-Admiral Thrawn in his search for Grand Admiral Zaarin.
Just before Endor, when Thrawn was made Grand Admiral the GW was reassigned to the then newly
formed Emperor's Hammer. About four years ago it was grouped together with the Intrepid to form
the Aggressor Strike Force. The first COM was RA Domi.
The Grey Wolf carries TC Wing XIII and currently is under the command of VA Khadgar. It has functioned
as ASF Flagship since the first ASF:SC and won all following ASF:SCs as well. As one of the
most sucsessful ships in the TC it has also earned itself a TCCOM's Own award.
Recon by ASF Forces has detected a NR-SSF Weapons Factory near by the EH Territories. The Grey Wolf
has sent two of its Task Force ships, the DREAD Demeter and the VSD Monitor, together with three of
its Squadrons to take it out of operation.

MISSION 3: "Wasp Squadron - Hit and Fade"
Wasp Squadron, 36th TIE Corps Squadron, of Wing XV is based upon the ISDII Vanguard and its
objective is Assassination. Assassination Squadrons kill specific targets very quickly
deep in enemy territory. Both Kidnapping and Assassination Squadrons would be able to
perform these missions in small flight groups so large amounts of EH assets are not risked.
Wasp Squadron is currently under the command of CM Boris and earlier CMDRs were MAJ Prophet
and his predessor LC jdf1984, who was the first Wasp CMDR ever. It has won WC's Own 3 months out
of 12 in its first year while Wasp pilots earned VanCOM's Protector twice.
In this mission you will have to preform Wasp Squadron's primary objective: Assassination. We have
found out the location of a high NR-SSF Officer and Wasp will be sent in to take him out at the
NR Base he's visiting in orbit around Bav III.

MISSION 4: "ISD Intrepid - Rebel Strike"
The ISDII Intrepid (II) was commissioned by Emperor Palpatine right after the battle
of Yavin to replace the original ISD Intrepid, which was destroyed by X-Wings and Y-Wings while
scouting the Cron Drift.
Just before Endor, when the EH was founded it was assigned to reinforce this new fleet.
About four years ago it was grouped together with the GreyWolf to form the Aggressor Strike
Force. The first COM was RA Sarok.
The Intrepid carries TC Wing XIV and currently is under the command of VA Brakka who succeeded VA Pel,
the current WO, the current WC is LC Dengar March. The Intrepid always been a steady factor in
the ASF, it came in second in the last ASF:SCIII.
NR-SSF recon has located the Intrepid! A strike force of elite NR Squadrons has been sent in
to take out our proud Ship! Wing XIV will be launched to ward off the attack - Good Luck!

MISSION 5: "ViB Historical Missions - Classic Conflict"
When the ISD Vanguard was assigned to the battle group of the (then) Vice Admiral Thrawn, their primary
concern at the time were the traitor admirals Harkov and Zaarin But that didn't mean they didn't
see anything of the actual Civil War of that time... the so called "Classic Conflict" between Empire
and the Alliance guerrillas.
This mission is about a simple interdict and destroy operation that got out of hand when the
Interdictor Artemis, assigned to the Vanguard at the time, pulled out of hyperspace more
then the actual Light Calamari Cruiser with Z95 escorts they were aiming for.
Within moments the pilots of Wing XV were confronted with a sizable force of Rebels and
it was only because the GUNs Thrawn had assigned to them that you can still use
these simulators onboard the Vanguard today.
Try if you can do as well as they did in the day.

NOTE
-------------------
You need X-W CD or '95, as far as i know no other patches are needed. I cannot assure it will run on
X-W disk as it might exceed its maximum craft amounts. You'd need the B-Wing and Imperial Pursuit
add-ons to play.
