The story was at least a little bit there, more than most, but that isn't saying much for free battles to be honest. Regardless, mechanics wise it sort of goes downhill from there. You don't really have to do much of anything for the first half, maybe take out a transport or three, but for the last part you just...wait. Even the in-flight comms complain about having to wait, but the response is only yeah well it's just the way it is. It doesn't have to be! Anyway, it works and it's easy points, if you're looking for that here's the place to be.
I played on Easy. This mission doesn't really even need you, but man it makes you wait forever. The final ships don't jump in until the ~10 minute mark, so there's a ton of waiting around in this mission. It's easy, but be prepared to wait around.
I don't think I really did anything during this fight. My teammates were just too powerful and they had this without me. Honestly next time someone makes me jump into a ship when I'm not needed I'll file a formal complaint. So rude! I ended up just sitting in my cockpit and making memes all day until our back-up arrived after quite a wait. How uncivilized!
Oh my god Ender. I cant believe this trash was created by Ender. He has the capacity to make much much better missions so not sure what is going on with these last three missions. Anyway, dont waste your time flying this one unless you are doing it for completion points.
Simple mission about bombing a rebel flotilla. Thankfully you will be flying a MIS with a standard load and beam, making things easier. Unfortunately after mopping up everything, it's sitting on hands for endless minutes. A shame, since it dents the gaming experience of an otherwise good mission.

X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter Free Mission Title: Wing XVI: Panther Squadron Missions: 1 Medal: A Stylish Panther Print Shirt Author: FL-SCOA-TCT-TCS/CM Ender mBind/Echo 2-1/Wing XV/ISD Vanguard (mindb_ender@hotmail.com) Game Platform: X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter (+patches) Release Date: 1/jul/2002 Ships: TIE Defender, Missileboat Difficulty: Playable. Filename: wxvi4panther.zip File contents: WINGXVI4.TIE, Mission.lst, Readme.txt, Imperial.lst Hardware used: Celleron 450Mhz, GForce II Ultra, 194Mb Software used: XvTEd, XvT, Notepad THESE LEVELS ARE NOT MADE, DISTRIBUTED, OR SUPPORTED BY LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY. ELEMENTS TM & (c) LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY. Installation ------------ The Imperial.lst and Mission.lst replace your original files, so back those up! - This is a little more complicated. Go to the patch archive of the Science Office at http://www.scienceoffice.net/patch/view_cat.php?id=1 and download the TIE Defender and Missileboat patches. Read the installation instructions and install them accordingly. 1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle. 2] Check the Misc folder in your XvT one for additional material like patches, sounds etc. 3] Press the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter button to start XvT and fly the battle. - Create a new pilot for the mission based on your name or PIN and the mission number. For example, SL Stele playing Free Mission 80 would make a new pilot file named "StelFM80." or a Pilot with PIN 2883 playing Free Mission 69 would make a new pilot file named "2883fm69" - Begin flying the first training mission. Description ----------- This mission is part of a series of free missions about each of the squadrons in the ASF doing missions following their squadron objective in their assigned craft. Each mission tries to give a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are interconnected and have the ASF Squadron join together against a common foe. Story Line ---------- Panther Squadron, 113th TIE Corps Squadron, of Wing XVI is based upon the ISDII Predator and its objective is Strike. Strike Squadrons attack and destroy all enemy craft (unless otherwise ordered). After Rancor helped capturing a Genko Warhead Factory it appeared they had only just missed the chance to intercept a large shipment of torpedoes going to the NR Spine Security Force. The ISDII Predator however is in the right location to grab this convoy just before it reaches its goal: A NR-SSF Calamari Cruiser equiped with a full wing and support craft. The Predator will be borrowing the INT Artemis from the Vanguard Battlegroup to keep any craft from escaping, and more forces are under way. If we can keep this shipment from arriving that Cruiser's Wing will be under equipped for quite a while. NOTE ------------------- You need XvT (or at least all the ships involved there) AND the SCO Patch for the TIE Defender and Missileboat. Other Information ----------------- This is the First release. Bugs could arrise - please mail me if they do - also if you have hints, death threats, questions or apraisals.FL-SCOA-TCT-TCS/CM Ender mBind/Echo 2-1/Wing XV/ISD Vanguard GSx2/SSx4/BSx4/PCx5/ISMx15/MoI/MoT-22rh-35gh-3bh/IS-1SR-1PR/LoC-PSx101/DFC/CoS/CoL/CoB/LoAx2/OV-2E [PLDN] {IWATS-AIM-GFX-ICQ-IIC/1/2/3-M/1/2-SM/2-TM-TT-XAM-XTM-XTT}
